KUTEÈ is a brand of PALAROCK FZCO, a company registered in Dubai Silicon Oasis (Dubai Digital Park), United Arab Emirates, under registration no. 35273 ("KUTEÈ", "we", "us", "our"). We are the controller of the personal information we collect through kutee.com and related services (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
We handle personal information in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and, where they apply to you, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and US state privacy laws.
Information we collect
- Contact details: your name, billing and shipping address, phone number and email address.
- Order information: the items you view, add to your cart, buy, return or exchange, and your order history.
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (such as card type and last four digits), but we don't store your full card number.
- Account information: if you create an account, your login details, preferences and settings.
- Communications: what you send us when you contact customer care, join our waitlist or sign up to our newsletter.
- Device and usage information: your IP address, browser, device type, approximate location and how you interact with the Services, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use your information, and why
- To process and deliver your orders — including payment, shipping, customs clearance, returns and customer care. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To run and improve the Services — keeping the site working, understanding how it's used, preventing fraud and keeping it secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To send marketing — launch news, waitlist alerts and offers by email or SMS. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every message.
- To show you relevant ads and measure them — see "Advertising, analytics and cookies" below. Legal basis: your consent where required by law, otherwise our legitimate interests.
- To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting, customs and responding to lawful requests. Legal basis: legal obligation.
Advertising, analytics and cookies
We use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising tools, including the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API. These record how you use our site — such as pages viewed and actions taken (for example, joining a waitlist or placing an order) — together with identifiers such as your email address, which may be shared with Meta in hashed form to measure our advertising and improve our campaigns. We also use Shopify's analytics to understand store performance.
In the European Union, EEA and United Kingdom, non-essential cookies and these advertising tools run only after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time.
Who we share your information with
- Shopify, which hosts our store (see below).
- Payment providers, to process your payment and prevent fraud.
- Fulfilment and delivery partners — our warehouses in the United States and the United Arab Emirates, and carriers such as Aramex, DHL and UPS — who receive your name, address, phone number and email to deliver your order.
- Customs authorities, for international shipments.
- Advertising and marketing partners such as Meta, as described above.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where needed to comply with the law, enforce our terms or protect our rights.
- A buyer or successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.
We don't sell your personal information for money. Sharing information for targeted advertising may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under some US state laws — you can opt out here. If you visit with the Global Privacy Control signal turned on, we'll treat it as an opt-out request for that browser and device where the law requires it.
Relationship with Shopify
Our store is hosted by Shopify, which processes personal information about your use of the Services to provide and improve them. Information you submit is transmitted to and shared with Shopify and with third parties that may be located outside the country where you live. We also use certain Shopify enhanced features that draw on your interactions with our store and with other merchants; for these, Shopify is responsible for processing your information and for responding to requests about it. International transfers
We are based in the United Arab Emirates, and our service providers operate in the UAE, the United States, the European Union and elsewhere, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. When we transfer personal information out of the EEA or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK equivalent, unless the destination has been found to provide adequate protection.
How long we keep your information
We keep order and transaction records for as long as tax, accounting and customs laws require. We keep marketing information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and account information until you close your account. After that, we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that's inaccurate;
- delete your information;
- receive a copy of your information, or have it transferred to another company;
- object to or restrict how we use it, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- opt out of targeted advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@kutee.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and we'll reply within the time the law requires. You may use an authorised agent, who will need to show proof of your permission. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority — for example, the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK or the supervisory authority in your EU country.
Children
The Services are not intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority where they live. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. Please don't send sensitive information to us through unsecured channels.
Third-party websites
Our Services may link to other websites and social platforms. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here, update the date at the top, and give notice where the law requires it.
